To help preserve the Independent Contractor (IC) model, a group of stakeholders has come together to create the TIE coalition. The purpose of the coalition is to educate policymakers on the value of the independent contractor model, identify successful independent contractors who can share their stories, and coordinate efforts amongst the companies, trade associations, and other participants. We are engaging Congress to ensure they understand the role the IC driver plays in the economy, their states, and also their districts. We are bringing in drivers to meet with members of Congress and share their stories as entrepreneurs and members of our communities.

Members of Congress want to hear from you! Contact your Member of Congress and let them know how the Independent Contractor model gives you the freedom to run your business as you see fit. Let them know that the proposed rule could have a devastating impact on your business and on the country’s supply chain.

Dear President Biden,
On behalf of our coalition, Truckers Integral to Our Economy, I ask you to nominate someone who can be confirmed by the US Senate to serve as your next Secretary of Labor. It has been more than three months since Secretary Marty Walsh resigned and the Senate has yet to schedule a final vote on your current nominee. It is time to move in a new direction.
The Department of Labor needs a strong, Senate-confirmed leader who can fulfill the mission of the Department to promote pathways to economic liberty for individuals and families working to achieve the American Dream.
As you know, truck drivers were the heroes of the pandemic as they continued to deliver the medicine, groceries and everything else we needed during that challenging time. Without our truckers, our supply chain would collapse. The flexibility of the workforce enabled trucking to adjust schedules to accommodate fluctuating demands during seasonal harvest and holiday periods.
Our coalition is composed of companies who employ and rely on truck drivers to deliver product throughout the country. From the union driver to the independent contractor, we are fighting to preserve the right for every driver to choose how they want to drive.
Mr. President, please find a nominee who can be confirmed by the Senate. Our drivers are depending on you.
